Raise the bar campaign
“Premium non nocer”: Above all else, do no harm
- Hippocratic Oath
The Walnut Health Raise the Bar campaign raises awareness of the crucial link between fitness and mental health--because “wellness” in its truest sense integrates both. It focuses on elevating the professionalism of the fitness industry, inviting coaches and trainers to hold themselves to a standard similar to that of the healthcare community by prioritizing the long-term
physical and mental well-being of their clients.
The Oath consists of four pillars of unconditional support: Compassion, Mindfulness, Neutrality, and Credibility.
Over 80% of healthcare costs in the United States are attributable to chronic disease, which is significantly tied to lifestyle factors, such as nutrition, physical activity, substance abuse, inadequate sleep, and poor stress management. Yet even those with financial means and access to services struggle to make sustainable habit changes in these areas. As healthcare continues to move toward preventative and value-based, we need to find ways to integrate fitness and mental health.
